Are you in search of a mid-size sedan that is spacious, versatile, and can protect your precious cargo? Then you need to see the Toyota Camry! As America's best-selling mid-size sedan, Toyota has not messed with their winning formula too much for 2016, but have added more of what drivers already love about the Camry. For instance, after a complete redesign for the 2015 model year, the Camry returns for 2016 with an improved interior, including a vivid Multi-Information Display that is now standard on all Camry models. There is so much to love about the 2016 Camry, but where can you find one? Well, if you live near Greenville, Greer, Gaffney, Anderson, and the surrounding area, Dave Edwards Toyota would like to invite nearby drivers to visit our Spartanburg, SC showroom to test drive the stylish new Toyota Camry. To see how the 2016 Toyota Camry stacks up against its rival from Nissan, the 2016 Altima, continue reading below!

Standard Interior Features

One area where the 2016 Toyota Camry really separates itself from the 2016 Nissan Altima is with its interior features. Standard on the 2016 Camry is a backup camera, 6.1-inch touchscreen display audio system, and an 8-way power-adjustable driver's seat; you won't find any of those features as standard on the 2016 Nissan Altima. In addition to its 6.1-inch touch-screen display, the Camry LE base model's Entune Multimedia Bundle also includes hands-free phone capability, advanced voice recognition, phone book access, and music streaming via Bluetooth wireless technology. The Camry's standard audio system, featuring an AM/FM radio with CD player and MP3/WMA playback capability, auxiliary audio jack, and USB 2.0 port, can be enjoyed through the powerful six-speaker sound system. If you want modern technology and convenience features as standard on your new mid-size sedan, then the 2016 Toyota Camry is a smart buy!

Standard Safety Features

The 2016 Camry and Altima mid-size sedans both provide a nice list of safety features, but when it comes to standard safety features, the Camry edges out Nissan's Altima. Camry passengers are protected by ten airbags, including a driver and front passenger Advanced Airbag System; driver and front passenger seat-mounted side airbags; rear seat-mounted side airbags; and front and rear side curtain airbags. The Camry's innovative driver and front passenger knee airbags are nowhere to be found on the Altima; they are not even available as an option! Did you know that knee injuries are some of the most common issues that occur from front-end collisions? Toyota was smart to address this issue 'head on' by not only making driver and front passengers airbags standard in the Camry, but also in many of its other models as well. Another feature that you will not find on the Altima is the Camry's standard Star Safety System suite of safety features. Toyota's Star Safety System consists of six advanced safety features that can work together to provide active safety for you and your loved ones. Included in Toyota's safety suite are Smart Stop Technology (SST), Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD), Brake Assist (BA), Vehicle Stability Control (VSC), Traction Control (TRAC), and an Anti-lock Brake System (ABS).

Smart Safety Features

Toyota has added many other smart safety features into the 2016 Camry, in addition to the aforementioned knee airbags. In fact, Toyota's more advanced safety features are literally 'smart', in that they can help prevent collisions from even occurring. The 2016 Toyota Camry is available with a long list of driver-assist, active safety, and passive safety features. While the rearview backup camera comes standard on every 2016 Camry, additional safety technology offered on the Camry includes the available Rear Cross-Traffic Alert (RCTA), Blind Spot Monitor (BSM), Lane Departure Alert (LDA), and even Dynamic Radar Cruise Control (DRCC). When the Camry's Blind Spot Monitor (BSM) senses a vehicle in your blind spot, it alerts you with a visual icon on the side view mirror that is closest to the vehicle you can't see. The Camry's Rear Cross-Traffic Alert (RCTA) operates in a similar way: when backing out of a parking space or onto the street, the system gives both audible and visual alerts to you about approaching vehicles that are in your path. The available Lane Departure Alert (LDA) system issues visual and audible alerts to the driver if an inadvertent lane departure maneuver is detected. Toyota's Direct Tire Pressure Monitor System (TPMS), is another safety feature that drivers will appreciate; it alerts you to when a tire is underinflated, and you can even see on the Multi-Information Display which tire needs to be inflated. Toyota's Dynamic Radar Cruise Control (DRCC) allows your Camry to maintain a safe and preset following distance behind the vehicle in front of you, which makes using cruise control hassle-free. While some similar features are offered as available options on the 2016 Nissan Altima, you will most likely have to pay more for them. For instance, the top of the line 2016 Toyota Camry model, the 2016 Camry XLE V6, starts at an MSRP of $32,205, while a comparably equipped 2016 Nissan Altima 3.5SL is priced at over a thousand dollars more, or $33,525. For smart safety features at a more affordable price, choose the 2016 Toyota Camry over the 2016 Nissan Altima!

Passenger Volume

If you are shopping for a mid-size sedan, then chances are you will be driving around passengers quite frequently. If the comfort of your family and friends is a factor when searching for a new mid-size sedan, then you will want to drive a sedan with plenty of space for all five passengers, like the 2016 Camry. The Camry's cabin has about one cubic foot of additional passenger volume when compared to Nissan's Altima; that extra passenger space makes riding in the Camry more comfortable for all five passengers. In fact, the 2016 Camry beats the 2016 Altima in all second-row dimensions, including rear legroom, headroom, hip room, and shoulder room! While these two popular sedans are comparable in overall width, the Camry makes better use of every square foot of interior space. Not only is the Camry more comfortable than the Altima for second-row passengers, but front passengers will appreciate the Camry's additional shoulder room and hip room, too. When it comes to mid-size sedans, a more spacious interior is always better; that is another reason why drivers should choose the 2016 Camry over the 2016 Altima.

Cargo Capacity

It seems that one area where the 2016 Nissan Altima is able to keep up with the 2016 Toyota Camry is in standard cargo volume. Both of these popular mid-size sedans can haul an impressive 15.4 cubic feet of cargo in their spacious trunks. When their 60/40 split-folding rear seatbacks are folded down, the cargo space of these mid-size sedans becomes even more spacious and versatile. With the rear seats folded down, it becomes easy to transport longer items like large TVs, golf clubs, folding tables, and more. With the Camry, it is easier to utilize the back seat of for both passenger and cargo hauling, thanks to the Camry's larger rear passenger space. In the Altima, with its less spacious back seat, you may have to choose between carrying second-row passengers or folding down one of the seats to accommodate extra cargo. For fewer compromises, choose the 2016 Toyota Camry!
